Florence

Florence is a city like no other: a place where history, art, architecture, and culture come alive around every corner. Wandering its cobblestone streets, you will discover awe-inspiring sights from Renaissance masterpieces to world-class cuisine. Marvel at storied museums, enjoy unforgettable meals in amazing restaurants hidden down charming alleys, and experience the vibrant culture that makes this city truly special. Whether this is your first visit or one of many, we hope Florence captures your heart as it has ours.

Our Venue

We are honored to be celebrating at the magnificent Palazzo Borghese, one of Florence’s many historic palaces. The Palazzo was originally developed in the 1400’s and later transformed into a beautiful example of neoclassical architecture.

From here, you are a short walk from Santa Maria del Fiore, commonly called The Duomo. This iconic cathedral — with its monumental dome engineered by Filippo Brunelleschi — is one of Florence’s most celebrated landmarks and a masterpiece of Renaissance art and architecture. Standing in the Piazza del Duomo, you will witness the heart of this historic city.

Church

TBD

Our ceremony will be a full, traditional Catholic wedding Mass, lasting approximately 90 minutes. All are warmly welcomed and encouraged to attend, regardless of faith, as we come together to celebrate this sacred beginning of our marriage.

Non-Catholic FAQ

What should I wear to the ceremony?

1

As the ceremony will take place in a Catholic church, we kindly ask that men and women wear something modest and respectful; men may wear collared shirts, dress pants/slacks, and dress shoes, while avoiding shorts, T-shirts, hoodies, and hats. Women must have their shoulders and knees covered inside the church. A shawl, wrap, or light jacket works perfectly and keeps things elegant and respectful.

Do I participate during the Mass?

2

There is no need to worry, participation is simple. Just follow along by sitting when we sit and standing when we stand. You are also welcome to remain seated at any point if you have trouble standing.

What about Communion (the Eucharist)?

3

Only practicing Catholics should receive the Eucharist. Non-Catholic guests are warmly invited to remain seated during Communion or approach the priest for a blessing.

I’m not familiar with a Catholic Mass — will I feel out of place?

4

Not at all. Many guests are not of the Catholic faith. Feel free to “buddy up” with someone familiar with the Mass, and know that your presence is meaningful. All are welcome.
